Manchester United’s interest in Pedro Rodriguez is clear, and today they might have been given the biggest hint that the 28-year old is about to join the club this summer, as Barcelona’s Sporting Director has confirmed that Pedro has asked to leave the Camp Nou.
“Pedro asked us for the transfer,” Barcelona’s technical secretary Robert Fernandez said on TV3.
“We are not going to accept less than €30m for him, it’s not negotiable.”
So basically if Manchester United stump up the £22million Barcelona want, he’ll become a red. It seems unthinkable that the club won’t pay that after splashing £60million on Angel di Maria the season before, so it looks as though we could have a new player in the not too distant future.
His versatility will be a real asset for the club as he can play all across the front three, and at 28 he is right in the middle of his peak years. Hopefully this deal will be done in time for the Brugge game this time next week and maybe we’ll see him in action.
