Pep Guardiola shows class, comes out in support of Solskjaer

For Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the pressure is mounting. Two wins in eight just isn’t good enough for Manchester United. After a strong start, things have tailed off – and quickly…

The games are coming thick and fast and they aren’t getting any easier, either… Next up is a home fixture against Manchester City, who themselves will be desperate for victory as there is a title on the line.

Before the eagerly anticipated encounter, Pep Guardiola has shown his true class by coming out in support of a struggling Solskjaer, admitting that he completely understands what the Norwegian is going through.

“Our world, our position, I am close to Solskjaer, I understand perfectly his position,” said Guardiola, per The Telegraph.

“We feel alone and that is why I understand completely his position. It happens to all the managers around the world. That is the reality. I understand him perfectly. I support him.”

Rivalry aside, I much prefer to see a mutual respect between managers rather than a constant bickering via the media. Guardiola was in a similar situation during his first season, the pressure was beginning to build but given time, he eventually succeeded.

The game tonight is huge. For both teams there is something on the line and these managers will have their players ready and prepared to do what it takes to succeed. They’ll be enemies for 90 minutes, and for the remainder of the season, but the manager’s union should be exactly like this as it truly is a cut-throat business.

Hopefully, United can come out on top and get a much-needed three points under their belt, while denting City’s title dream in the process.
