Pep Guardiola wants to sell Schweinsteiger, United should go in for him

According to the usually reliable Graham Hunter, who was speaking to talkSPORT, Pep Guardiola is looking to move on Bastian Schweinsteiger. Hunter said that Schweinsteiger doesn’t suit Guardiola’s style of play, and the 29-year old is too slow for his tika-taka tactics.

Schweinsteiger has often found himself out of the Bayern side this season, with Guardiola opting for the much faster Phillip Lahm in the holding midfielder role. Schweinsteiger, 29, has a poor history record but surely he’d be worth the gamble if Manchester United can get him for a relatively cheap fee?

He’ll be far better than anything we currently have in our midfield, and he’d certainly add some character and invention which is much-needed. He’d walk into the side, so it’d be a good move for him personally, and he’d be an instant hero the minute he walked through the Old Trafford doors.

Obviously it’d be a huge gamble, but after such a dire season last time around, risks will have to be taken, and money will have to be spent if we want to return to former glories as quickly as possible.
