Manchester United Football Club are confident of securing a deal to land Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic, according to The Independent. Furthermore, personal terms have already been agreed upon and a deal could be completed over the next week.
Apparently, Jose Mourinho’s men are still a few million pounds short of Milan’s current asking price, but sources close to the move are claiming a deal will be agreed upon, thought to be in the region of £45-50million.
Although we currently have a lot of talent on our books in the wide areas, we don’t really have that out-and-out winger who’ll hug the channel for the duration of the match. Perisic would bring that to the table.
At 28, he’d also offer us some much-needed experience, and he’s the type of player that you’d expect to step up when things are looking tight.
To be brutally honest, this signing underwhelmed me at first but the more you think about it, this is a signing that would make an awful lot of sense.
Nobody nailed down the left-wing spot in the team last campaign, despite the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard all getting their opportunity to do exactly that. Perisic could come in and make that jersey his own from day one.
