Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian is seemingly nearing his Old Trafford exit.
According to Calciomercato, per talkSPORT, a deal a deal seeing the Italian go to Juventus is close to completion, with personal terms already agreed.
Darmian, 28, has grown frustrated at the lack of opportunities under Jose Mourinho, and now he’s just waiting for the two clubs to agree upon a transfer fee.
For a player of his age, five league starts just isn’t going to be enough. He’s at that point in his career where he probably has one big-money move left in him. Not only will a move to Juventus be a financial success, he’ll also likely win trophies aplenty while in Turin.
It’s a shame that it didn’t really work out for Darmian at United; particularly after such a solid start. Unfortunately, though, things went downhill for him pretty quickly, and honestly, I’m surprised he’s lasted this long at the Theatre of Dreams.
The fact that Italy aren’t in the World Cup plays into Darmian’s hands. There is no rush for a deal to be reached, meaning United can eek out every last penny from the Old Lady.
