Personal terms agreed as United set to go back in with offer for 23yo midfielder: report

Manchester United are hopeful of securing a sensational deal to bring AS Monaco’s Fabinho to Old Trafford, the Sport Review say. They write that United are set to go back in with another offer for the 23-year-old powerhouse, with Jose Mourinho set to step up his efforts.

The report also adds that personal terms have already been agreed with the player, so all that is left for the Red Devils is to agree a fee with the Ligue 1 champions, then a deal could well be on the cards.

Apparently, United are just under £9million off AS Monaco’s asking price if they are to let their versatile star leave this summer, and when you have pockets as deep as we do – you’d surely expect those demands to be met. Providing United’s interest is genuine, of course.

This is a player that would certainly excite the fans if the club can pull off a move for Fabinho. He’s an excellent midfielder, but he can also fill in at right-back if required, and we all know Mourinho loves those versatile stars.

He’d offer some much-needed extra protection to a rather young back four, as well as allowing the likes of Paul Pogba to do what they do best in the final third of the field.
