Phil Jones likely to miss Everton game due to injury

According to The Guardian, Manchester United defender Phil Jones hasn’t recovered in time to play against Everton this weekend. It is believed that Louis van Gaal will give him another two weeks training, and will probably let him join up with the England squad to play for his country  in the upcoming European Championships qualifier.

This would be a huge blow if Phil Jones cannot play against Everton. Roberto Martinez’s side are bound to poise the most threat out of the teams we’ve faced so far this season, and we need our most senior defenders fit – especially against the likes of Romelu Lukaku.

The centre-backs we have fit at the moment include Tyler Blackett, Paddy McNair and Marcos Rojo. Daley Blind is also capable of dropping back if need be, but this back line isn’t anywhere near good enough to win championships.

The Gurdian have also said that this game will come too soon for Michael Carrick, but Marouane Fellaini could return.
