Phil Jones: This Man United star is a special talent

Manchester United’s season has started off strongly, with Jose Mourinho’s men winning all three of their fixtures so far. The Red Devils are currently in the middle of a two-week hiatus due to the international break, but we’re edging closer to the return of our heroes.

To keep us occupied, we’ve had international fixtures to enjoy and the England lads managed to get another World Cup qualifying victory on the board last night.

After the match, Phil Jones was speaking to the media and he had plenty of praise for Marcus Rashford. The United youngster was at fault for the goals the Three Lions conceded, but my did he make up for it by setting up a goal and scoring one for himself.

Jones, who is having a great season himself, claimed that Rashford is an absolute nightmare for opposing defenders, whilst adding that he’s a ‘special talent’.

“He’s a great lad off the pitch and, on it, he’s a special talent. He’s already special but he’ll be a world-beater one day, he’s that good.” Jones told the Daily Mirror, as per Sports Mole.

“He’s so quick, sharp, technically gifted, two-footed and a nightmare for defenders. You’ve seen it this season already, he’s given defenders nightmares.

“He’s an Academy product and players from the youth system have done great over the last few years. He’s a special player and we’re lucky to have him.”

The fact that he’s an academy product makes it even better. This is a player who has taken the Premier League by storm over the last couple of years and he’s just growing as a footballer with each passing week.

We tend to forget that he’s still only 19 years of age which is absolutely absurd when you think about it. Long may this growth continue, because he could be an excellent footballer for us over the next decade or so.
