Manchester United made the swoop for Bastian Schweinsteiger this summer, in what could turn out to be one of the deals of the transfer window, coming in at just over £6million.
Sir Alex Ferguson was a known admirer of the now 31-year old, and tried to sign him on numerous occasions but failed for one reason or another.
The pair were both in Scotland today, as Bastian Schweinsteiger was playing in Germany’s 3-2 win over Sir Alex Ferguson’s Scotland, and they met on the pitch and shared a smile, handshake and a joke or two.
You wonder just how many more trophies Manchester United could have won if Sir Alex Ferguson had Bastian Schweinsteiger at his disposal. He certainly would’ve made the difference on the European stage at times where the club were overpowered by far superior opposition on occasion.
