For Manchester United Football Club, as good as it got where Alexis Sanchez is concerned is the piano playing when he signed on the dotted line eighteen months ago.
The struggling Chilean has been hampered by injuries, poor form, a change in management and having little-to-no confidence whatsoever.
Sanchez’s United future remains up in the air, although a proposed move to Inter Milan is now in doubt due to an injury suffered by Anthony Martial (according to The Guardian).
But, you’d suspect if the 30-year-old does remain at Old Trafford, he’ll remain as a mere back-up while collecting an outrageous weekly wage packet.
Well today, the eagle-eyed reporters over at the Manchester Evening News United liveblog posted a photo of Sanchez arriving for United training this morning (see photo below)…
It’s unclear as to whether Sanchez turned up at the AON Training Complex to train or discuss his future with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
But, you’d imagine if he’s fit and ready to go, he could well be in the squad for the game against Southampton this weekend due to the aforementioned injury suffered by Martial.
If he does stay beyond the September 2nd European deadline, you’d assume Sanchez is firmly in the last chance saloon. There’s only so long United will continue to pay his humongous wages without production – and the best port of call may well be to move him on while subsidising his pay-packet until his contract runs out in 2022…
