Over the weekend, Manchester United safely progressed into the FA Cup quarter-finals, thanks to a 2-0 victory away at Huddersfield Town.
The game itself was a difficult encounter for Jose Mourinho’s men, but thanks to a rampant Romelu Lukaku, the Red Devils were left celebrating at full-time. Their prize? A home game against Brighton & Hove Albion; a fixture that United should be winning.
Perhaps the best moment on the day didn’t come from the action, it followed Lukaku’s second goal. After sliding in the big Belgian wonderfully, Alexis Sanchez was pictured carrying a young pitch-invading fan off the field, and it’s moments like these that really makes you fall in love with football.
United’s new #7 could have easily ignored the fan, but no, he gave the lad a moment he’ll never forget for the remainder of his life, and it’s something professional footballers should do more often.
Anyway, after the encounter, the moment seemed to be one to cherish for Sanchez, too, as he posted the photo on his official Instagram page.

Without the fans, there would be no football. It’s wonderful to see Alexis giving back in such brilliant fashion. This lad has something that’ll stick with him for the remainder of his life.
As for Sanchez the footballer, you can already see the impact he’s having at Manchester United. That pass he made to feed Lukaku was sublime, and it gave us a glimpse of what’s to come from the Chile star.
