Picture: Andreas Pereira wins Man United Goal of the Season award

For Andreas Pereira, the 2018/19 campaign has been his breakthrough at Manchester United.

After two years out on loan in Spain, the Brazilian has been used as a rotational option by both Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Tonight, he became an award winner at the Red Devils’ annual ceremony.

The 23-year-old was named as the recipient of United’s Goal of the Season prize – for his stupendous strike in the come-from-behind victory against Southampton.

It was an absolute rocket from United’s #15, and one of my personal highlights this season. The way he stuck it right in the top corner so calmly to drag his teammates back into a game that looked lost was just superb.

The young man has always been highly thought of by the fans, and this season it has been good to see him involved. He’s one of very few within that United squad who’re likeable. That’s probably due to the fact he wears his heart on his sleeve while leaving absolutely everything out on the field.

Pereira has shown that he may well have a long-term future at this club, but he’ll have to continue working hard in training if he wants to start matches with regularity.
