Angel Di Maria has made a scintillating start to his Manchester United career, and it does beg the question as to why Real Madrid let their best performer [Ronaldo aside] leave the club. The £60million fee is paying itself off rather quickly, and I’d go as far as saying that Di Maria could well be in the final three to win the Ballon D’or alongside Ronaldo and Messi.
He himself has admitted that a move to Manchester United has furthered his career once again, and that he’s learning all the time. However, as you can see below, Di Maria wasn’t always that world-beating footballer, he was just a skinny sixteen year old with a dream like the rest of us –
