Picture: Anthony Martial almost cracks a smile with his Man United Player of the Month award

Manchester United enjoyed a brilliant month of September, with Jose Mourinho’s men continuing their unbeaten start to the season. The Red Devils have looked pretty good, particularly as games are winding down to a conclusion.

The Old Trafford club have enjoyed a real cutting edge from off of the substitutes bench, and one player who has made a brilliant impact recently is Anthony Martial.

For his performances over the last few weeks, he was named Manchester United’s Player of the Month for September; an accolade he richly deserves. Shortly after winning the trophy, the official @ManUtd Twitter account posted a photo of him with his award.

In his six games, Martial scored three goals, picked up four assists and also claimed a couple of Man of the Match awards. That’s a pretty sensational return given he spent plenty of minutes sitting on the substitutes bench.

It’s nice to see the French attacker playing so well at present. Last season wasn’t his best year, but it certainly seems as though he has the hunger and desire to hit the form that he displayed in his debut season with the club. Long may it continue, because we’re going to need him over the duration of a long and hard season.
