Manchester United Football Club have been looking superb defensively recently, with Jose Mourinho’s men getting extremely stingy on the opposing attackers. A big part of that is Phil Jones’ excellent partnership with Marcos Rojo, but a certain right-back also deserves a lot of credit.
Antonio Valencia was recently named Manchester United’s January Player of the Month, and today, the Ecuadorian was presented with the award, with the photo below being posted on United’s official Twitter account.
The 31-year-old has transformed himself from a right-winger into a right fullback over the last couple of years, and he has made the transition like a duck to water.
He’s strong, a tough tackler and has pace to burn, and the best thing is that he’s always an offensive threat as well, as he still has that attacking instinct.
Valencia even missed the last two games of the month, which just goes to show how much of a great time of things he is having over the last few weeks or so.
