Manchester United Football Club have somewhat of a defensive crisis on their hands at the moment. Both Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have been out with injury for quite some time, and now it looks as though Argentine Marcos Rojo looks set to join them on the treatment table.
The centre-back was stretchered off in this evening’s game against RSC Anderlecht, after banging the same knee twice within a couple of minutes. It certainly didn’t look good for the 27-year-old when he had to be substituted off, and that could have a massive impact on our season.

That leaves us with just one senior centre-back fit and available – Eric Bailly. The 23-year-old Ivorian who the Red Devils signed this summer now has to be the commander of that back four.
Obviously, it’s too soon to tell regarding how long Rojo could be out for, but this definitely could pose Jose Mourinho with a selection headache going forward. Daley Blind came on as the substitute for Rojo during the game but honestly, is he really good enough to start as our centre-back in the long-term? Probably not.
All we can do for right now is hope that it isn’t too serious and it was more of an impact injury than any actual damage. Hopefully, Mourinho will shed some light on the situation in the not too distant future.
