Picture: Bastian Schweinsteiger in tears before last game for Germany

Manchester United Football Club are already looking like a completely different outfit under Jose Mourinho, with the self-proclaimed Special One doing some excellent business in terms of incoming players. One man who he has tried to move on is Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The German seems determined to stay at the Theatre of Dreams beyond this transfer window, and it looks like he has gotten his wish, as with a couple of hours left, no deal for a move away is in place.

Tonight saw the 32-year-old take to the field one last time for his beloved Germany, and before the game he grabbed a microphone and said a few words to the fans who love him dearly.

As he spoke, he couldn’t hold the tears back any longer, and floods of them began streaming down his face. You can hardly blame him either. Germany is, and always will be his first love. A country that has given him so much joy on the biggest footballing stages of them all will always live long with Bastian Schweinsteiger, and what a classy man he is.
