Zlatan Ibrahimovic was at the forefront of a Manchester United side that secured their first major piece of silverware under Jose Mourinho, and what a brilliant result it was. The Red Devils beat out stiff competition from a talented Southampton team who themselves deserve plenty of credit.
It was the big man who stole the show however, with our 35-year-old forward opening the scoring with a cracking free-kick, before winning the game in the dying embers with a bullet header.
The top players show up in those key moments, and that is exactly what Ibrahimovic has done for us all season long. He’s now made it 26 goals on the season thus far which is a truly remarkable return for a man who came in on a free transfer.
This evening, Ibrahimovic took to social media to post a brilliant photo from inside the dressing room, as he celebrated his 32nd major trophy as a professional footballer.
Have a look at the photo here:

What a player. What a man. We’re so lucky to have him, and we owe Jose Mourinho an awful lot of credit for getting this deal done. This is a guy used to winning, and it definitely is a risk for him coming to Old Trafford. However, he seems to be really happy here, and long may this excellent winning run continue!
