Picture: Cameron Borthwick-Jackson wins U21 Player of the Year award

Manchester United have given plenty of opportunities to the youngsters this season, largely due to a whole host of injuries decimating the first-team squad. Several starlets have come through and really put pressure on the first-team regulars for a spot in the side.

One man who has thoroughly impressed at times this season was Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, and last night he won an award for being the best U21 Player throughout the season.

The Mancunian more than deserves the praise he is receiving too. He has taken it all in his stride, and has been without doubt one of our better performers this term.

Sadly injury has meant he hasn’t featured at all over the last couple of months, but he’s finally back in training and raring to go, so it’d be good to see him start a game before the end of the season.

If CBJ continues to impress and develop, we could have a real star on our hands. Perhaps his biggest asset is his ability to deliver an inch-perfect cross, which we’ve seen numerous times in his fledgling career.
