Manchester United’s preparations for the new season are well underway, with Jose Mourinho’s official unveiling as boss set to take place tomorrow. However today, he could have just been hit with a major blow.
Today on social media, reports emerged of Chris Smalling suffering an injury whilst surfing on holiday in Bali. Shortly after that, The Sun backed that story up with an article, claiming that the England defender was stung by a jellyfish, and suffered a heavy fall whilst learning how to surf.
Then the picture below of the 26-year-old seemingly on a drip with a bandage on his head emerged. It doesn’t look good for the defender, who is no doubt an integral part of Jose Mourinho’s plans going forward.
I’m sure the manager won’t be too happy with what’s going on though, because Smalling shouldn’t really be doing anything that risks injury during the off-season.
