Cristiano Ronaldo is in Manchester – and he was loving life on a rare day of sunshine here in the North West yesterday.
Manchester United Football Club pulled off the move of the transfer window last week – agreeing a sensational deal that sees Cristiano Ronaldo move back to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils witnessed their homegrown hero back to the area sooner than we all expected, as Ronaldo picked up a booking for Portugal, meaning he’d be unavailable for their next game. The decision was then taken that he may as well leave camp and get settled here in Manchester.
In hindsight, this was probably the best thing to happen. First and foremost, it allows Ronaldo some extra time to get his family relocated and begin to focus on the upcoming Premier League campaign.
Yesterday, our new number 7 took to Instagram to share a photo of himself enjoying the Manchester sun, ahead of a potential debut against Newcastle United this upcoming weekend.
It’s currently expected that Ronaldo is undergoing a five-day isolation period, with that time over on Wednesday. That’d leave Ronnie with two, maybe three days training under his belt before our Saturday fixture against The Magpies.
With Ronaldo not having any pre-season, I’d rate his chances at starting that game as 50/50. Ole Gunnar Solskajer sometimes likes to take the cautious approach so, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Portugal international is sat on the bench.
Either way, it just feels absolutely mad that Ronaldo is back here in Manchester. We’re talking about someone who is arguably the best player to have ever laced up a pair of football boots.
I’d like to think that his experience, winning mentality and sheer skill will tip us over the edge as we hunt Solskjaer’s first trophy as manager.
Welcome home, Cristiano!
