Picture: Cristiano Ronaldo warming-up ahead of Man Utd debut

He’s here. It’s happening. We’re now moments away from Cristiano Ronaldo making his second Man Utd debut…

The Greatest of All Time starts. It was never really in doubt, was it? The Manchester United legend always looked likely to be involved from the off as soon as he picked up that yellow card while playing for Portugal.

Our number seven is back, twelve years after leaving and he means business. Make no mistake about it, Ronaldo is here to deliver trophies back to the Theatre of Dreams and I’m definitely not going to bet against him.

Suddenly, our starting eleven and bench looks jam-packed with quality. The whole impact he’ll have in that dressing room cannot be understated, either.

Anyway, ahead of his debut, Ronaldo was pictured warming up on the Old Trafford turf – and suddenly, it all feels very real!

To have Ronaldo back home, wearing United colours once again, is just an insane feeling – particularly as he came so close to joining our noisy neighbours.

Now, he’s lining up for us as our main striker at the ripe old age of 36. Honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way and I can’t wait to see how he fares over the course of this season.

In terms of opposition, Newcastle will make it tough. They’ll be physical. They’ll fight for every inch and dig in for all they’ve got. No doubt Ronaldo will keep them occupied with his sheer presence, size and athleticism.

Hopefully, today’s the day we’ll see a famous ‘SUIIII’ celebration in United colours for the first time.

The roar he gets when walking out of the tunnel is going to be special.

Welcome home, Ronnie!
