David de Gea’s Manchester United future is still up in the air, and as this saga rumbles on it looks as though the 24-year old is enjoying his summer break away from the game. Today he was pictured outside the Spanish FA headquarters in Madrid.
They were holding a kits football competition in the capital, and David de Gea was in attendance cheering on the future starlets. His career path is completely unknown at this moment in time, and its honestly tough to work out which way this one is going to go.
He has the lure of Madrid [his hometown], a return to his girlfriend and friends, and Real Madrid on the cards. On the other hand the Manchester United fans have treated him wonderfully and backed him from minute one – something that wouldn’t happen if he were to make a few mistakes at the Bernabeu.
If the worst does happen, Louis van Gaal is bound to have a contingency plan in place just incase he does leave, and for me the top priority in terms of a replacement has to be Petr Cech.
