Manchester United head South to take on the probable league Champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Louis van Gaal’s men have finally started picking up the pace in terms of league position and all-round play, but one player who has been a constant is David de Gea.
The outstanding shot-stopper has been our best player once again this season, and it’d be a surprise if he isn’t named United Player of the Year in the summer.
Thibaut Courtois is another outstanding goalie, and ahead of the game the two best keepers in the league have been compared.
The stats are all extremely close, but all just edge towards David de Gea. Our Spaniard has made 80 saves to Courtois’ 65, averaging out at 2.5 saves per game compared to the Chelsea mans’ 2.4
One highly impressive stat is the catch success rate. De Gea has made 100% of his catches, compared to Courtois’ equally high 97%.
