Manchester United’s first order of business this summer was sealing a deal to bring in little-known full-back, Diogo Dalot.
The teenager, from Portugal, is currently enjoying his first pre-season tour with the Red Devils. No doubt he cannot wait to get going, with things kicking off with a game against Club America in the early hours of Friday morning.
Before that, though, Dalot could well have just confirmed his jersey number for the upcoming season, as he’s wearing the #20 while in training; pictured alongside both Joel Pereira and Andreas Pereira, who are both wearing their official squad numbers.

If it is indeed the #20 that Dalot has been handed, I’m somewhat surprised. Call me old-fashioned, but I’ve always viewed that particular number as an offensive one. Typically, you’d see a striker or winger take it.
Honestly, nobody knows what to expect from Dalot. He’s obviously a brilliant talent, despite the fact that he’s only played a handful of first-team games. You know he’s got the footballing world at his feet, though, it’s not often Jose Mourinho sanctions a move for a youngster.
Full-back has been a real problem area for the Red Devils over the last few years. Here’s hoping that this young man is the solution that the Old Trafford faithful have been craving.
