Manchester United Football Club return to our TV screens this evening, in a game against Tottenham Hotspur – which feels like the perfect way for our Red Devils to return.
As you’ve seen from everything that’s going on right now, football is the most important of the least important things in our life. COVID has wrecked our way of living and so many lives, while the Black Lives Matter campaign highlights another problem that simply shouldn’t just be happening in 2020.
I’m proud that the Premier League are doing their part by displaying the BLM logo on all shirts, while we simply cannot forget the amazing work our NHS is doing in what must be an incredibly tough time for those key workers and all their families.
United are to donate shirt-printing proceeds to kick it out and on the post, we saw a glimpse and got a first-look at the United jersey, modelled by Harry Maguire, with both NHS and BLM logos on them:

Footballers, and football in general is often mocked for being full of overpaid, overhyped people. I tell those folks, on a daily basis almost, that they’re wrong.
Our sport is jam-packed with young men who have come from working-class backgrounds, who want to do their bit for their community. You look at the incredible work Marcus Rashford is doing right now and are instantly filled with the utmost pride and respect. He’s not the only one, either. The beautiful game has hundreds of Rashford’s. We’re all lucky to have them.
Tonight won’t be the same. That said, I’ll sit down with a few beers and enjoy what we have. Let’s make the most of a bad situation and forget about our problems, if only for 90 minutes…
Come on boys!
