Manchester United’s Angel di Maria had an excellent start to his career as a Manchester United player, but has gone off the boil somewhat since the turn of the year.
This week, the Player of the Year nominees were released, and to some surprise Liverpool’s Coutinho was amongst the shortlist for both Young Player and Player of the Year.
Sky Sports have done a stat comparison of the pair, and as you can see the stats favour heavily in Di Maria’s corner, despite him playing more than 500 minutes less than his Liverpool counterpart.
Yes, Coutinho’s dribbling is second to none, but the more vital stats are all won by our player – except goals. Di Maria has 3 to Coutinho’s 4, but has 8 assists to Coutinho’s 4. Our Argentine has also created 45 chances – 7 more than Coutinho.
