Picture: Former Man United assistant coach spotted all-smiles in Russia tonight

Manchester United are currently taking on FC Rostov in the Europa League this evening, in a game that was always going to be a very tight affair. Jose Mourinho will be hoping for a lead to take back to Old Trafford so they can take complete command of the two-legged tie.

Ahead of the match, former Manchester United assistant coach Carlos Queiroz was spotted in the stadium as he prepared to watch the Red Devils in action.

David McDonnell of the Mirror tweeted out the photo of the 64-year-old who has been Iran’s boss since 2011, and you have to say he is looking rather well.

Have a look at the photo here:

The man from Portugal was always touted as one of those guys who could turn his hand to top level management after such a successful career as a number two; but you’d imagine he’d have had his sights set higher than Iran (no offence intended).

Queiroz won it all as Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant over two spells, (2002-03 & 2004-08), including the Champions League title before he moved on to take control of his native Portugal.

It’s always nice to see a familiar face, especially one that helped bring us so many great memories.
