Manchester United’s month of February was certainly a step in the right direction. Credit where it’s due, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side enjoyed themselves, won games and looked pretty good in the process, too…
Hitting form at the right time is important. As we enter the business end of the season, the confidence is flowing while United are also getting players back from injury, too.
It’s no surprise then, that WhoScored’s February Team of the Month was dominated by Red Devils, with no fewer than four United stars named within the starting XI.
WhoScored’s February Team of the Month in full here:
First up, there were three defenders in the team. Let’s start with the full-backs. Aaron Wan-Bissaka comes in with a 7.77 rating, largely due to his defensive brilliance. However, his cross for Anthony Martial’s opener against Chelsea simply cannot be ignored.
Then you have Luke Shaw, who has been much-improved since Brandon Williams’ emergence. Perhaps the Englishman just needed that little extra push, which he’s getting right now.
Harry Maguire actually had the joint-best score over the month with an 8.01 rating. He has been a defensive colossus and there’s no doubt that Solskjaer handing him the captain’s armband has done Slabhead the world of good.
Finally, also with an 8.01 rating, is man of the moment Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese has scored three goals while tacking on a couple of assists. He has been by far and away United’s best player, while the spark he has provided simply cannot be understated.
Well played, lads! Long may it continue.
