Manchester United’s U21 Group sealed the Premier League crown last week, after they beat Manchester City 4-0 at Old Trafford and other results went their way. Today they played the same opponents, and the Citizens gave our boys a Guard of Honour.
It was a nice touch by the blue half of Manchester, with our lads more than deserving of wrapping up the title in style after a very disjointed season for Warren Joyce in terms of not having a regular group of players to select from.
This title is United’s fourth in six years at U21 level, and its great to see the club still sticking to its principles by developing and producing players that eventually prove good enough for the first team.
One player who is yet to get his chance but is more than deserving of one is the young defender Tom Thorpe. He captains the U21 side, and he is more than capable of making the leap to senior football.
