Manchester United have been chasing Harry Maguire’s signature for pretty much the whole summer. The latest story we covered yesterday came from Sky Sports News, who stated that the defender missed Leicester City training while telling his current employers he wants a move away.
It does feel (to me anyway) that things are finally starting to pick up the pace. Now Maguire’s agent, Steven Beck, has dropped a big hint at a potential United transfer for his client.
Last night, some eagle-eyed United fans had checked out his Instagram (which is now private), with Beck uploading a photo of himself seemingly at United’s Carrington training ground… Fox Sports Asia also picked up on the story.
Beck is the director of Maguire’s agency company, Triple S Sports, so why else would he be at Carrington?
Well, it’s worth noting that young James Garner is also a Triple S client, so there’s a chance that Beck could be discussing the young midfielder with United – although the 18-year-old only signed a new contract just last year so it does feel unlikely…
Back to Maguire. It seems more than a coincidence that as things start to pick up pace his agent is spotted at a United building. Perhaps he’s trying to persuade the Red Devils to meet Leicester’s demands, or maybe the deal is progressing and we’re finally getting somewhere?
Either way, it’s interesting. Hopefully, we’ll learn more on the saga as the day goes on…
