PICTURE: Jonny Evans’ season over after ligament damage

Jonny Evans left Carrington with his foot in a protective boot yesterday, as we learnt that his season is over after suffering an ankle injury. Evans has only made 24 appearances for Manchester United this season, as his poor injury record continues.

His injuries must be becoming a concern for the staff at Old Trafford, because he seemingly always picks up these little knocks and niggles that often keep him sidelined. This injury looks a serious one, and although no return date has been given, hopefully he’ll be ready to go for the start of pre-season.

Its disappointing to be honest, because for me he’s the best defender we currently have in the squad. He must overcome these injury problems if he is to remain at Manchester United though, as he’s fast becoming a liability.
