Picture: Juan Mata already back at Aon Complex working hard

It was just last week that Jose Mourinho had all-but confirmed the point that Juan Mata looked set to be done for the rest of the season, with the Spaniard requiring surgery on an injured groin.

The midfield maestro had been a crucial part in our starting XI, due to his insanely high footballing IQ and the ability to pick out the right pass inch-perfectly.

There is absolutely no doubting that he has been a huge miss for the Red Devils, and today, he gave us all a quick glimpse into his recovery.

He posted the below photo on his official Instagram page with the message ‘good session’. It’s great to see him stepping up his recovery and it’s pretty clear he is doing all he can to make it back before the season is over. Will that happen? Probably not, but you cannot blame him for trying.

With six games left in the league and a maximum of four left in Europe, there is still plenty of football left if we make it all the way in the Europa League competition. By that point though, I’d imagine that Mourinho will have a regular starting line-up in place, and it’s probably best for Mata to look forward to next season.
