Manchester United have been in superb form of late, and one of the instrumental figures in that is certainly Juan Mata. The 26-year old deserves an awful lot of credit recently, as he didn’t let his head drop once despite a prolonged absence from the team due to being out of favour.
However Mata seriously took his chance over the past couple of games, and that was capped off by two wonderful goals in the win over Liverpool.
Sky Sports then presented us with this graphic, showing the midfielders who have added the most goals and assists in the Premier League since the 2011/12 season.
Juan Mata comfortably tops that list, having scored 31 goals and adding an impressive 34 assists during that period.
His total eclipses the likes of Steven Gerrard, Eden Hazard and Yaya Toure, as well as his fellow Spaniard David Silva.
This shows just how effective Mata can be when utilised properly, and it’d be tragic if he doesn’t start every Premier League game from here on out.
