Louis van Gaal will be named Manchester United manager in a matter of days, and ahead of that we’ll try to bring you as much information about our new gaffer as possible. First things first, and most importantly, have a look at his excellent trophy haul in a managerial career that has lasted over 20 years.
As you can see from the graphic, with each of his four domestic clubs he has won the league title at least once, these teams include Barcelona, Ajax, AZ Alkmaar and most recently Bayern Munich. Perhaps the most impressive point is that he guide Ajax to Champions League glory back in 1995, which is an superb achievement.
Louis van Gaal promotes youth, giving first team debuts to players like Patrick Kluivert, Andres Iniesta and Xavi. Meaning his promotion of youth players is arguably second to none.
His strict training methods are sure to shirk up the United camp, but in my eyes thats exactly what is needed. The lads seemed to take it easy under David Moyes, and Van Gaal needs to reinstate his managerial power on that dressing room as soon as possible.
