Picture: Maguire & Wan-Bissaka back in first-team training ahead of Brighton game

Man United have been handed a double injury boost, with Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka back in first-team training.

Ralf Rangnick has two games left as Manchester United manager. No doubt he now realises just how big the issues are at Old Trafford.

Brighton & Hove Albion is our penultimate game this weekend, with the Red Devils now playing for nothing but pride. Top four is long gone. Thursday night football next season is guaranteed.

It’s all about players playing for their places in Erik ten Hag’s squad. It’s perhaps why we saw improved performances all across the board against Brentford.

Well, United’s squad is about to get a little bigger going into the run-in, with two first-teamers back in training ahead of the Brighton game on Saturday. Handing United a double-injury boost in the process. It was the official club website that confirmed the news.

Check out the photo of Maguire & Wan-Bissaka in training here:

United’s squad has looked a little thin on the ground over the last few weeks, so it’s good for Rangnick that he’s getting a couple of experienced bodies back.

Let’s start with Maguire. His season has been a forgettable one, though I genuinely believe he’ll rediscover his best form under Ten Hag. That said, I’d keep him benched from now until the end of the season. I like what I saw from the Raphael Varane/Victor Lindelof partnership last time out.

Wan-Bissaka’s situation is a little more interesting. I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if he’s moved on this summer as his defensive style doesn’t really fit in with what Ten Hag likes to achieve on the football field. The problem? I’m not wholly convinced by Diogo Dalot, either…

Either way, it just gives the gaffer a little more room for manoeuvre going into the last couple of games. At the very least, these guys will get a good break and be fit for pre-season (assuming they’re still here, of course!).

Welcome back, lads!

Will either of these two play again this season? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
