Picture: Man United all-but confirm Bruno Fernandes will wear the #18 jersey

Manchester United Football Club will seemingly have to settle for one signing during the January transfer window – in the form of Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

The Red Devils left it late to get their man but in the end, the Old Trafford club are left celebrating a key signing, which is made even more important due to the fact that injuries are decimating the squad right now.

We’ve seen some great quotes from both Fernandes and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since the move, though all that was left was to find out his jersey number.

Although we’re yet to get official confirmation, United all-but-confirmed Bruno Fernandes’ kit number on social media earlier today. Amongst the below photos that were posted on the official @ManUtd Twitter account, the eagle-eyed amongst you will spot the #18 jersey in the final photo…

During his time at Sporting Lisbon, Fernandes wore the #8, though that’s currently occupied by Juan Mata. I personally thought that the 25-year-old would take the #7 which has been vacated by Alexis Sanchez, though the #18 definitely fits, and why not try to follow in Paul Scholes’ footsteps?

I guess it’s still not *officially official*, but we’ll get a proper answer tomorrow when he takes to the field against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

I don’t know about you, but I’m supremely excited to see him in action!
