Picture: Man United duo make BBC’s Team of the Week after Everton draw

Manchester United Football Club maintained their unbeaten run yesterday, despite an early setback against an in-form Everton side managed by Carlo Ancelotti.

In the end, the draw was probably the fair result, despite the Reds dominating the majority of the game. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has every reason to be positive about our chances going forward. For me, I had this one down as a probable loss, so I do see it as one point gained rather than two dropped.

Anyway once again, there were some standout individual performances from a couple of key men in red. Both have been awarded a spot in Garth Crooks’ BBC Team of the Week as a result.

Let’s start with Harry Maguire, who put in an absolutely colossal performance from that centre-back spot. No player has made more clearances in a game this season than his fifteen. His head was like a magnet to every cross and corner, while his leadership skills were there for all to see.

Without doubt, that was Maguire’s best performance in United colours and he’s definitely improved since being handed the captain’s armband.

Then you have Bruno Fernandes. This lad is just brilliant to watch, isn’t he? You always feel like something is going to happen when the Portuguese has the ball at his feet and we definitely weren’t left disappointed with another quality display from him yesterday.

Both deserved their places in the team. I can also make a case for Luke Shaw being included, too. Unfortunately, Crooks decided to go with a back three so that all-but ended his chance.
