Manchester United’s biggest victory of the season came this weekend, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer leading his side to a 1-0 victory over an immensely talented Tottenham Hotspur side.
The game itself was an entertaining one, with both sides going for the throat throughout. In the end, it was the Red Devils who came out on top, thanks to some brilliant individual displays.
For their efforts, both David de Gea and Paul Pogba were named in WhoScored’s statistical Team of the Week, and what wonderful outings they both had.
Let’s start with De Gea, who was actually the highest rated player during this game. He scored an impressive 9.1 and it comes as no surprise given he made a season-high eleven saves.
He’s just the best in the business and we’re immensely lucky to have him. At 27, he’s rapidly approaching his prime years and we seriously need to ensure he remains at Old Trafford in the long-term.
Then, you have Pogba. Actually, his 8.6 was the second-best score in the team, which shwos United’s dominance from an individual standpoint. He played a world-class ball into Marcus Rashford for the only goal in the game, and what a moment it was.
His display on the whole was just mature and well thought out. Pogba just looks far cooler and calmer under Soslkjaer than he ever did with Jose Mourinho at the helm. It’s brilliant to see him playing so well and long may it continue.
