Manchester United have been without club captain Wayne Rooney recently, despite the fact that he did actually come back from an injury just a couple of weeks ago. His absence from the Everton and West Brom games we’re unknown until Mourinho eventually shed some light on the situation.
Just yesterday we learnt that the 31-year-old is still having problems with his ankle, and that’ll rule him out of United’s first leg of the Europa League clash against Anderlecht.
However, I am of the opinion that Rooney won’t be out for too much longer, particularly as he has now been spotted in training by the press. Check it out via Getty below.
I’m really not sure what to make of Wayne Rooney’s season as a whole, it has been a mixed bag. He did break the record to become Manchester United’s all-time top goalscorer which is obviously something that deserves endless amounts of praise.
However, alongside that, there has been some struggles. The striker has been in and out of the side, and at times his performances just haven’t been anywhere near up to scratch. Is he suffering from somewhat of a decline? I’d say probably, yeah. Wil he still be at the club next season? I really think his long-term future is up in the air right about now, and I guess it depends on whether Mourinho can find someone to replace him.
