Manchester United certainly had to earn their first victory with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the wheel on a permanent basis.
Watford came to the Theatre of Dreams trying to spoil the party, and to their credit, you probably wouldn’t have begrudged them a point if they got one.
Anyway, the Baby Faced Assassin’s team did just enough to scoop all three and we all went home smiling, sitting in the top four once again.
Before kick-off, there was a real touch of class from United, who unveiled the brilliant Solskjaer banner that you can see below:
This was an incredible gesture from the club. They know what Solskjaer means to the fans, and to honour his superb managerial performances, and his permanent appointment, was very fitting.
He’s now here to stay, hopefully for the next few years at the very least. You know what, there was simply no other option for United. He had to be given the job for good following the insane results he has achieved so far, and who knows, this could well be the start of something special at United.
After the last few years, we certainly would love to see a major piece of silverware added to the cabinet in the not too distant future.
Anyway, congratulations, boss!
