Manchester United’s season is over, and Louis van Gaal’s first year in charge has seen the club do exactly what they set out to do – make it into the Champions League. The Iron Tulip worked wonders at times, improving players like Valencia and Young tenfold.
The aforementioned Antonio Valencia has gone under the knife as soon as the season has ended, presumably so he is fit to start the next campaign midway through August.
The Ecuadorian has turned into a makeshift right-back with Louis van Gaal clearly not fancying the more natural right-back in Rafael da Silva.
Many fans aren’t keen on Valencia however, and it looks as though United will have a new regular right-back come the start of next season, with Nathaniel Clyne and Dani Alves being linked to the club over the past few weeks.
