Picture: Manchester City fans with real touch of class to Sir Alex Ferguson following trophy win

Manchester City are deservedly celebrating their Premier League title win today, although they did drop points at home to Huddersfield Town.

The result obviously won’t be dampening any spirits as their work is done, and during their celebrations, two blues showed immense class in a kind-hearted gesture to Sir Alex Ferguson.

During their broadcast, Sky Sports picked up on City fans carrying a banner that read ‘football aside, get well Fergie’. Honestly, the fact that these lads have gone out of their way to pay tribute to probably their biggest enemy speaks volumes about them as people; and it was absolutely brilliant to see.

Sometimes, there are more important things than football, and what Ferguson’s family are currently going through highlights that.

These two fellas will be out having the time of their lives tonight (and rightly so), but this is something that Ferguson’s loved ones, coupled with Manchester United fans across the globe, will never ever forget.

It’s moments like these that truly restores my faith in humanity and it’s something we simply need to see more of across the footballing community.

Hopefully, Ferguson’s situation improves, and he’ll be able to see this classy gesture himself in the not too distant future.
