Picture: Manchester United centre-half named in Team of the Week

Manchester United secured their most impressive win of the season at the weekend, overcoming a poor Liverpool side 3-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday evening. There were goals for both Anthony Martial and Ander Herrera, as well as Man of the Match Daley Blind.

The Dutch centre-half also made a goal line clearance in the game, earning him a spot in WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Week with an impressive 8.79 rating.

He is in the team alongside Laurent Koscielny, Dimitri Payet and Riyad Mahrez, as well as three former reds – Robbie Brady, Wilfried Zaha and Ritchie De Laet.

Daley Blind has really come on leaps and bounds this season, particularly given the fact that he was utilised in the centre of midfield last term, as opposed to a central defender this campaign. Many weren’t keen on the idea at the start of the season but so far he has done a superb job alongside Chris Smalling.
