Manchester United’s Premier League season has drawn to a close. The Red Devils, who struggled domestically for the most part, finished the season in sixth place after a whole host of draws.
Now, WhoScored have released their best statistical Premier League XI of the season. To my surprise, it includes two Manchester United stars. However, on the face of it, those inclusions definitely make sense.
First up we have Antonio Valencia. The Ecuador international has been simply stunning in his new right-back role this season, and I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I suggest that he has probably been the best wing-back in the Premier League this campaign which is a testament to just how good he has been. He scored a 7.2 rating.
One of the top performers in the team was Paul Pogba who was handed a 7.7 rating for his midfield displays. Without him, Manchester United simply look like a worse team which is all you need to know. He makes us tick and when the Frenchman has a good game, I just feel much more confident in the team as a whole.
The United pair were included alongside the likes of Harry Kane, Kevin de Bruyne and Fernandinho.
