Manchester United left it late to overcome Crystal Palace, with Jose Mourinho’s men turning around a 2-0 deficit in the second-half.
The winning goal came from Nemanja Matic’s left-boot, as the Serbia star struck it sweetly on the half-volley, at a time when the majority of United fans would have been begging for him not to shoot.
For his performance, Matic was included in WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Week, along with fellow Red Devil Chris Smalling.

Let’s start with the defender, then. Smalling scored an 8.4 rating, largely boosted due to the goal he scored to give United a chance at getting back into the fixture. However, some of the defending he did in the first-half was amateurish, and the way he just let Patrick van Aanholt run off him was nothing short of embarrassing.
Matic also struggled in the first 45, but in the second-half he took over the midfield as Palace began to sit back. What a time to score your first Red Devils goal, too, and I love how he ran straight over to the passionate away crowd who cheered the boys on throughout the game.
