Manchester United progressed safely through into the fourth round of the newly-renamed EFL Cup. Jose Mourinho will be happy that his side managed to grab a win after three losses on the trot, and it couldn’t have come at a better time with Leicester City visiting Old Trafford.
Before the Northampton game last night, a banner emerged online, aimed at Wayne Rooney. It was apparently created by unhappy Manchester United fans,who haven’t been best pleased with the performances of the 30-year-old as of late…
Now, I’m far from Wayne Rooney’s biggest admirer at the moment but this is just so unclassy from a select few supporters. Yes, he hasn’t been great at the moment but look at what he has done for our club over the years.
It’s mental to think that a few bad games can earn you a hurtful banner from the fans who have adored him and sang his name over the last decade…
At the end of the day, football is a fickle game. If he goes and scores a few goals over the next couple of games I’m sure this bad period will be forgotten about and that’ll be the end of it…
