Manchester United have had horrifically bad luck with injuries over the past few years, particularly in defensive quarters. That trend looks set to continue this season as you can see from the info graphic below, as Louis van Gaal’s men top the table for most injuries suffered in the 2014/15 Premier League.
Our crocked defence is usually the heart of the problem, and once again that trend seems to be continuing. Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans [our three senior centre-backs] are all out injured once again, and Tyler Blackett is also serving a suspension.
The table works like this: One point per week, per player injured. So if you have ten players missing for one week, that means you have ten points.
