Manchester United Football Club have been very hit and miss at times this term, and at the moment Louis van Gaal is getting slated by the media for the poor performances his side are putting in. One positive from this term has been Chris Smalling, and he has got some deserved recognition.
The Monday Night Football punditry team named their Team of the Season so far, and our centre-half has been included in the starting XI which is a great confidence booster for the England international.
He is named alongside the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Jamie Vardy, and its brilliant to see just how well he has developed over the last twelve months.
It just shows what regular playing time can do for certain individuals. It wasn’t that long ago there were talks that the club could potentially let him leave due to a lack of growth in his game, but that has changed drastically for the better.
