Picture: Manchester United man named in EFL Cup Team of the Week

Manchester United Football Club safely progressed into the quarter-finals of the newly-renamed EFL Trophy on Wednesday night, thanks to an excellent 1-0 victory over fiercest of rivals, Manchester City. West Ham at Old Trafford is next up, in what promises to be another big night for Jose.

Before that, though, it’s time to credit one man who was named in EFL’s ‘Team of the Round’, and that man is obviously Ander Herrera. The smiling Spaniard has emerged as one of our most effective players over the last month or so – which has been brilliant to see.

Against City he was as feisty and as passionate as ever, and as the game wore on, he took a grip of it alongside Michael Carrick and guided his teammates home.

Herrera has been named in the team with the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Daniel Sturridge and Matt Ritchie, who were all pretty good for the duration of their respective maches.
